“Positive Advocacy: How to Stand Up for Yourself and Ask for What You Want”
Date: Tuesday, April 10, 2018
Location: Ludington Library, 5 South Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr PA 19010
Although many of us feel comfortable advocating for others as part of our jobs, it can be much more difficult to advocate for things that are important to our own career success. Many of us either fail to recognize opportunities to negotiate, or mistakenly associate negotiation with confrontation. This session will discuss the art of “positive advocacy,” and provide you with some tools and techniques to more confidently solve problems in both formal and informal workplace situations.
Robin F. Bond, Esquire, is the founder and principal of the Wayne, PA, law firm Transition Strategies, LLC, which represents executives and employees in matters of employment and severance agreement negotiation, executive compensation and equity/stock matters, as well as discrimination and civil rights claims. Robin is the author of the book How to Negotiate a Killer Job Offer, and has been a long-time contributing legal analyst for major television network business and news programs, magazines and newspapers including CNN, FOX, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Careerbuilder.com, Philadelphia Business Journal, Time, Forbes and US News and World Report. Robin’s many honors include being named as one of Pennsylvania’s Employment Super Lawyers for the past 6 years, and being selected as one of the nation’s top 1% of employment attorneys by the national Association of Distinguished Counsel.
