Join the Gallivanters October 18 for a tour of Society Hill lead by a Preservation Alliance guide. Society Hill received its name from the “Free Society of Traders” who were granted a strip of land in this area by William Penn in 1683. Take a leisurely walk through this country’s largest, intact collection of original colonial and post-colonial residential architecture. The tour will depart from 2nd and Spruce at 10am and take 1.5-2 hours. The cost is $22 and is limited to 20 members. It will be held rain or shine. An optional a la carte lunch at Twisted Tail is available nearby at 509 S. 2nd St. at the end of the tour. This is an inventive new American restaurant. We will take the train downtown and walk or taxi to the start of the tour. Refunds are not available but another person can take your place on the tour. Contact Carol Banford with any questions.
