Join the Gallivanters on Wednesday, September 23 for a walking tour of Beaux Arts Philadelphia at 10am lead by a Preservation Alliance guide. Beginning in Rittenhouse Square we will see examples of late 19th century and early 20th century architecture influenced by the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. From intimate residences in Rittenhouse Square to monumental structures along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway you will see see why Philadelphia is sometimes described as the “Paris of the US.” The tour will be COVID 19 regulation compliant, requiring masks, social distancing, etc. The tour is limited to 15 and the cost is $20 per member. Transportation will be by regional rail and/or car. The tour will be cancellable up to 1 week prior. Lunch will be arranged, likely outdoors, for those desiring to join.
